SCAC Releases 2016 Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its eighth annual spring All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 49 student-athletes were selected to the 2015-16 squad in the sports of baseball, men's golf, women's golf, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field and women's track & field.
McIntyre Competed in Longhorn Invitational

IRVING, Texas – Junior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) will compete at the 2016 Longhorn Invitational on May 7 in Austin, Texas. McIntyre looks to crack the top 20 in the 400 Meters Dash to qualify for the NCAA National Championships.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas Athletics Department celebrated the third annual athletic banquet on Sunday at the Haggar University Center on campus. Each coach for the 14 NCAA affiliated programs took a few minutes to reflect on the teams’ year. The Most Valuable Players (MVPs) were announced, which are voted by the athletes on each team once a season ends. Other notable honors were handed out and/or announced.

DELHI, N.Y. – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team concluded the 2016 campaign with stellar performances at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championship. The team notched 89 points to claim third place within the USCAA Division II programs.

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team completed day one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships hosted at Texas Lutheran University. Junior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) headlined the Lady Crusaders performance with a trio of qualifying scores. Freshman Bridgett Kennedy (San Antonio, Texas) also claimed a top five finish in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.

BALDWIN, Kan. – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team competed in the Baker Relays on Saturday. The Lady Crusaders accumulated 23 points for 10th place as a team.

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team competed in the McMurry War Hawk Classic on a breezy day, Friday. Host school McMurry University claimed first as a team, with 170.5 points. Hardin-Simmons University and Texas Lutheran University claimed second and third, respectively scoring a 122 and 93.
Women's Track and Field sets 3 School Records at TLU Bulldog Relays

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team competed in the TLU Bulldog Relays on Saturday. The Lady Crusaders would break a school record in the 4x800 meter relay, topping last year’s mark by nearly 30 seconds. Several other Dallas athletes made strides with personal records (PR) and debuts.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s track and field team competed in the Trinity Open this past weekend. It was one of the larger competitions, as all but one NCAA Division III (UT-Tyler) program from Texas competed. Freshman and previous SCAC Athlete-of-the-Week Clare Basil (Arnold, M.D.) cracked the top 10 and a couple field athletes made solid season debuts.

TYLER, Texas – The results from the East Texas Grand Prairie Dog Time Trials have been posted for the University of Dallas women’s track and field team. Team scores were not calculated or counted, but the Lady Crusaders did reflect a solid start to the campaign. This included a new school record broken in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR).
