Women's Track and Field Final Results for SCAC Championship on Saturday

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas women's track and field team completed the final day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship hosted by Texas Lutheran University. Junior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) broke her own personal school record from two conference championships ago in the 400 Meter Dash.

Trinity prevailed in the team rankings with 255 points. Texas Lutheran followed with 190, and Colorado College completed the top three with 93.

Any top three individual places on the events are automatic selections to the All-Conference Team.

NOTABLE RESULTS

- After qualifying for three events in Friday's preliminaries (top 8 finishes), McIntyre competed in the 100, 200, and 400 Meter Dashes in the finals. The highlight from that trio came with a top three finished and improved time of 58.63 seconds in the 400m.

- McIntyre notched six points for the team after breaking a minute the first time this year in that sprint. She also garnered four points in the 200m with a 26.70 mark.

- Freshman Clare Basil (Arnold, Md.) improved on her seeding in the 1500m race with a personal record (PR), 5:10.23 time. Basil also completed her conference championship debut by being part of a team-best, 4:19.86, time in the 4x400m relay.

-Starting the quartet was sophomore Ellen Jennings (New Canaan, Conn.), then Basil. McIntyre was the third leg, and junior Cora Keil (LaCrosse, Wis.) completed the unit. Ellen, Natalie, and Cora all raced season-best splits to achieve a season-high.

- Sophomore Natalie Martinez (Plainfield, Ill.) remained in the same position after qualifying Friday in the 400 Meter Hurdles, but did improve on her final time with a season-best, 1:22.64 mark.

- In the field events, sophomores Grace Conti (Boxford, Mass.) and Marielena Herrera (Bryan, Texas) participated in the discus throw. The duo scored a 13.62m and 10.55m, respectively. Conti's attempt landed her a PR.

- The same three also threw in the Javelin. Junior Katie Spellmeyer (Chesterfield, Mo.) led the trio of UD competitors with a PR 23.60m toss. That ranked her eighth.
