McIntyre Competed in Longhorn Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) competed at the 2016 Longhorn Invitational on Saturday. McIntyre attempted a final chance this season to crack the top 20 (DIII) in the 400 Meters  Dash that give her a qualification for the NCAA National Championships.

McIntyre scored under a minute for the second time in the past three weekends, with a 59.65 second mark. She finished fourth place. Kanika Beckles would prevail with the top time of 53.56 seconds. Ashley Fields (57.50) of Baylor University and Martine Cloutier-LeBlanc (59.37) rounded out the top three respectively.

The UD women's track and field MVP boasted her best time of the campaign three weekends ago at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship with a 58.63 time. That mark broke a school record and landed McIntyre third place in the SCAC Outdoor Performance List, which was the Lady Crusaders' lone All-Conference member.

A week later, McIntyre prevailed with one of UD's three event gold podium finishes in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). She claimed first place with a time of 1:00.58. That was the 400m event, and McIntyre also helped Dallas earn another gold in the 4x100m relay.
