Track and Field sweeps Athlete of the Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The University of Dallas track and field team claimed the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Athlete of the Week awards for meets held Monday, February 15th through Sunday, Feb. 21st. This is the first time in each of them have earned the nod in their careers'. 

On the men's side, junior Paulo Salzar (Dallas, Texas) was awarded after setting a personal record (PR) with a 32.99m discuss throw. He added an 11.00m throw in the Shot Put. 

On the women's side, freshman Clare Basil (Arnold, Md.) got tabbed with the award with a 2:50 minute time in the 800m leg of the Distance Medley Relay (DMR). Her mark in the DMR was part of a school record that was set with a 13:39.06 result. 

Both squads travel to San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday for the Trinity Open.
