Distance Medley Relay Record broken for Women's Track and Field; Friday's Results Posted

TYLER, Texas – The results from the East Texas Grand Prairie Dog Time Trials have been posted for the University of Dallas women's track and field team. Team scores were not calculated or counted, but the Lady Crusaders did reflect a solid start to the campaign. This included a new school record broken in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR).

NOTABLE EVENT RESULTS

- The unit on the DMR broke the previous women's track and field program record by nearly 20 seconds, as four Lady Crusaders compiled a time of 13:39.06 minutes and won the event. The record eclipsed was set at the same competition on February 15, 2014.

- Among the quartet of athletes achieving the feat included: senior Emma Polefko (Cypress, Texas) in the 1200m, junior Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) in the 400m, and freshmen Clare Basil (Arnold, Md.) and Bridget Kennedy (San Antonio, Texas) in the 800m and 1600m, respectively.

- This is the second time McIntyre has been involved in a group setting the record for fastest time on this event. Basil ran a 2:30 minute in her leg, while McIntyre hit a 63-low and caught the girl in front of her that had a 40m lead. Kennedy closed the record-setting score with a 5:45 on the mile.

- Junior Cora Keil (LaCrosse, Wis.) made her season debut with a time of 29.57 seconds on the 200m.

- Sophomore Ashley Perez (San Diego, Calif.) tossed her first shot put and recorded a distance of 7.33 meters.
