ARLINGTON, Texas – Bobby Crook, who played with the University of Dallas baseball team in 2002 and ’03, has been promoted to Special Assignment Crosscheck with the Texas Rangers amateur scouting staff. The club announced his promotion along with other transactions for the amateur, professional, and international scouting staffs earlier this week.

WICHITA, Kan. – Mark Peterson (Cincinnati, Ohio) from the University of Dallas baseball team competed last week in the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series. The rising junior was part of the Great Southwest Collegiate League (GSCWL) Dallas Dirtbags, who won the regular season and league championship.

Mark Peterson is one of several Crusaders that has been in Collegiate Summer Ball. His bat has been an impact helping the Dirtbags head to the NBC World Series next week.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its 2017 Spring Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today and 456 student-athletes made the list. Since its inception in 1997 just under 25,000 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

IRVING, Texas – On Monday evening the 2017 D3baseball.com All-Region Teams were announced. Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) from the University of Dallas Baseball team was named to the All-West Region Third Team as an outfielder. Players were nominated by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.

NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Dallas baseball team placed a pair of players on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Baseball National All-Academic Team, which was announced on Sunday at the pre-tournament banquet. William Marshall (Frisco, Texas) was tabbed for consecutive years and Josh Abalos (Lewisville, Texas) received his first nod. In order to be eligible, players must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

NORFOLK, Va. – On Sunday during the pre-tournament banquet the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the Baseball All-American Teams. Headlining a trio of members from the University of Dallas baseball team was Ryan Hammonds (Cedar Hill, Texas) on the Second Team.

IRVING, Texas – On Sunday the University of Dallas Athletic Department celebrated the fourth annual athletic banquet held at Haggar University Center on campus. Each coach for the 15 NCAA affiliated programs were asked to summarize the year for their teams. The team-voted Most Valuable Players (MVPS) were announced and handed out. Coaches also noted other conference achievements, program records, and student-athlete milestones.

Stickler earned All-SCAC 2nd Team for the Crusaders. He was a catalyst for the lineup all season.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced the 2017 All-Conference Baseball Teams on Friday after the opening round of the SCAC Tournament. The University of Dallas baseball team had four players receive recognition – each for the first time in their careers.

Voss recorded 8-of-11 outs via a strikeout to match a personal-best.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Arlington Baptist College on Wednesday to conclude the regular season. This game had been added on Monday, since the Crusaders had an extra slot available to schedule a game after having a cancelled contest at LeTourneau University April 2.

Baseball earns Series Win on Sunday at Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas Baseball team concluded the regular season with a five-run victory at Schreiner University, and secured its first series win in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play. The Crusaders claimed the rubber game with their fifth contest to reach double figures in runs – second in conference play. UD’s pair of wins this weekend lifts the team to a two-win improvement from 2016.

Scioli banged his team-leading 5th home run in game two. That tied the game for the Crusaders a second time.

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team split the first two games of a its remaining Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) series at Schreiner University on Saturday. A pair of four-run innings in the opener propelled the Crusaders to their second shutout of the campaign. After coming back to knot the later game on two occasions, a third attempt fell a run shy.
