FIRST PITCH

The University of Dallas baseball team has added a non-conference game to its 2017 slate with Arlington Baptist College on Wednesday, April 26. First pitch at Crusader Field will be at 4 p.m. Dallas had a rainout earlier this month at LeTourneau University, so this contest will provide the maximum 40 games allowed in a regular season.

The Crusaders are 14-25 overall and just concluded their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) portion of the schedule with a three-game series win at Schreiner University. Dallas blanked the Mountaineers in game one 9-0. After falling that same day on Saturday 8-7, Dallas took the rubber game on Sunday in 10-5 fashion.

UD NOTES

- Dallas is 11-12 in non-conference games this season. This includes a 4-6 mark at home in the spring.

- Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) continues his impressive campaign. He has reached base in 38-of-39 games, including the last 30 straight. Stickler delivered an impressive day at the plate Sunday with a 3-for-4, double, three runs scored, and three stolen bases.

- Stickler has crossed home in the past five games. His slash line is .344/.487/.377 of avg./obp./slg./. Finally the team leader in runs and stolen bases boasted his numbers further up the columns with 41 and 23, respectively. Stickler is second in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in steals.

- Seth Hanson (Apache Junction, Ariz.) is in front of Stickler for hits by one with 43 total. 10 of them have been a team-high doubles. He remains in front for the team-lead in RBI (31). Has hit safely in nine of the last 10 games including past two conference three-game sets.

- Hanson is the first player to rip double-digit totals for doubles since the 2013 campaign was done by Alex Thornton (13) and Trevor Keele (10). Since 2010, only one player has more than 31 runs-batted-in. Keele surpassed that mark in 2014 with 46 and 2013 with 32. David Rettinger also had 31 ribbies in 2011.

- Enrique Vigil (San Antonio, Texas) posted base hits in all three games at Schreiner. Two were doubles and one was a triple, as the outfielder compiled five RBI in the final two games. He also scored twice in the series finale.

- Ryan Hammonds (Cedar Hill, Texas) threw a three-hit performance and matched a career-long, eight-inning performance in back-to-back starts. Hammonds struck out six for the third time this spring and sits atop the USCAA in strikeouts with 59. That total is 10 above his previous career-high from 2015. Hammonds now has an ERA beneath 3.00 with a 2.96-clip. He also has limited opponents to 12 walks on the year.

- William Marshall (Frisco, Texas) and Abraham Griesbauer (Troy, Mo.) lead the relievers in appearances with 16 and 15, respectively. Griesbauer did have one start on the bump.
