Stickler selected to D3baseball.com All-Region 3rd Team
IRVING, Texas – On Monday evening the 2017 D3baseball.com All-Region Teams were announced. Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) from the University of Dallas Baseball team was named to the All-West Region Third Team as an outfielder. Players were nominated by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.
Stickler has also earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Second Team and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Baseball Honorable All-American in this offseason. He is the third Crusader to receive a spot on the All-West Region team for D3baseball.com. Mark Carlson ('14) and Trevor Keele ('15) each were placed on the Third Team in 2014.
Stickler was the catalyst most of the campaign by hitting at the top of the UD lineup. Stickler broke out in his sophomore season with team-highs in batting average (.344), runs scored (42), and stolen bases (24). He tied the team-most for base hits with 43. His total amount of steals ranked second in both the USCAA and SCAC. The outfielder was mostly distinguished by his ability to get on base. Displaying an On Base Percentage of .491, Stickler reached safely in 39-of-40 games started this season.
