FIRST PITCH

The University of Dallas baseball team plays at Schreiner University for a three-game series over the weekend. A doubleheader at 12 p.m. on April 22 starts the three-game set with the finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday. This is the final conference series of the regular season.

Dallas is 12-24 overall and 3-12 in the SCAC. It is tied sixth with this weekend's foe and looking to end a five-game losing streak. The Crusaders were swept last series at home versus Trinity University.

UD NOTES

- Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) has reached base safely in 27 straight games. He remains the leader in batting average on the team with a .348-clip. He is tied for the team-lead in hits (39) and second in the conference in stolen bases (19).

- Seth Hanson (Apache Junction, Ariz.) follows with a .328 batting average and is tied with Stickler in hits. His nine doubles lead the squad and are the most by an individual since Alex Thornton whacked eight in 2014. His 13 and Trevor Keele's 10 from the 2013 campaign are the next highest marks in recent years.

- Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) wraps up the top trio of hitters with a .313 batting average and has totaled 36 base knocks. Eight of them have been doubles.

- Paul Scioli (Lubbock, Texas) has been stroking the ball this month, hitting .321 (9-28) with five doubles, a home run, and five RBI. His four round-trippers tie Hanson and Mark Peterson (Cincinnati, Ohio) for the team-most.

- Ryan Hammonds (Cedar Hill, Texas) logged a season-long eight innings in his final start at home last Friday against Trinity. Hammonds is tied with a career-high 65 innings pitched and surpassed his 2015 season's total amount of strikeouts by four with 53 now.

- Colby Davenport (Crockett, Texas) has emerged as another starting pitcher on the squad and holds the lowest earned-run-average (2.00). Even with 18 innings compiled, Davenport has started four games since March 29, including three straight weekends. His most recent start last Friday in game two resulted in a season-long, five-inning outing. He allowed a run on four hits and helped his cause with his first collegiate home run.

- Abraham Griesbauer (Troy, Mo.) rounds out the top three arms on the staff in terms of ERA with a 3.34 mark. In 29.2 innings, the left-hander has struck out 20 and allowed two earned runs in his last 6.1 innings of relief in conference games.

- He is tied with William Marshall (Frisco, Texas) in total appearances on the bump with 14. Marshall has made all of his from the bullpen, whereas Griesbauer did receive one start.
