2016 Athletics Banquet held Sunday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas Athletics Department celebrated the third annual athletic banquet on Sunday at the Haggar University Center on campus. Each coach for the 14 NCAA affiliated programs took a few minutes to reflect on the teams’ year. The Most Valuable Players (MVPs) were announced, which are voted by the athletes on each team once a season ends. Other notable honors were handed out and/or announced.

IRVING, Texas – Two student-athletes from the University of Dallas attended the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum held in Phoenix, Arizona, from April 7-10. Junior men’s basketball player Lorenzo Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas) and junior women’s soccer player Cascade Mayer (Kapaa, Hawaii) represented the Crusaders.

SCAC Releases 2015 Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its eighth annual fall All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 41 student-athletes were selected to the 2015 squad in the sports of men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and volleyball.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) released the 2015 All-SCAC Women’s Soccer Teams on Friday. Headlining four members from the University of Dallas was sophomore Elena Naccari (Covington, La.). The goalkeeper was voted All-SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year, and also got named to the All-Conference First Team.

IRVING, Texas – It was a wild, thrilling kickoff to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament on Crusader Field, as the University of Dallas (6-13-2) and Southwestern University (7-10-2) battled to a stalemate through two overtimes. Eventually, the Pirates would prevail in the shootout, 5-3, to advance to the semifinal on Saturday.

SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s soccer team (6-13-1, 4-7-1 SCAC) got a goal in the 82nd minute to break a scoreless match, and picked up its fifth shutout of the season in 1-0 final at Austin College (3-12-2, 2-9-1 SCAC) on Sunday.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women’s soccer team (5-13-1) gave a powerful performance on “Senior Day,” topping Sul Ross State University (3-13) by a final score of 5-0. It was the Lady Crusaders fourth shutout of the campaign, and third at home as they wrapped up the final regular season match on their own field.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas soccer teams have made a couple schedule adjustments throughout the final week of the regular season. Sunday’s contest that was postponed due to field conditions at Austin College has been rescheduled for November 1 in Sherman, Texas.
