THE LEAD

The University of Dallas women's soccer team (4-12-1) hosts two non-conference matches to finish off the regular season home portion of its schedule. On Wednesday, Dallas will face Texas A&M-Texarkana Wednesday, October 28, at 4 p.m. and then Sul Ross State University on Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

The Lady Crusaders have dropped its previous two, with the most recent in a 2-0 setback at Centenary College of Louisiana on a rainy night.


PLAYERS TO WATCH

Freshman Mason Cosgrove (Las Cruces, N.M.) leads the squad with three goals and seven points. Four players for Dallas have added multi-scoring results with two. Among the quartet are senior Mariah Fairbanks (Rocklin, Calif.) and Abigale Weisbrod (Mesquite, Texas), who scored a goal apiece in UD's last game at home about a week and a half ago.

Sophomore Elena Naccari (Covington, La.) has logged 1521:53 minutes in the goalkeeper position. She remains two saves behind the top spot in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) with 117.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

Texas A&M-Texarkana holds a 7-5-1 record and is coming off a draw against Division I opponent University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff. The final result was 1-1. Prior to that the Eagles had won four-straight games and prevailed in five out of six contests.

The Eagles are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and are part of the Association of Independent Institutions (AII). The program is playing its second official season and has never faced the University of Dallas.


SCOUTING THE LOBOS

Sul Ross State University is 3-11 on the year and dropped its most recent match, 12-0, versus Hardin-Simmons University to conclude the conference portion of the schedule. The Lobos are 1-7 on the road and will end the campaign at Crusader Field with a pair of contests. Prior to Friday's competition, the Lobos face Texas A&M-Texarkana on Oct. 29 at 2 p.m.

Valeria Rey leads the offense for SRSU in goals with four and points with 10. She also has attempted a team-best 27 shots with 15 shots on goal. Jaclyn Gutierrez is the other player with more than one goal on the team. Kelly Swenson has made 102 saves in 764:04 minutes for the Lobos, and Shelby Stegent has added 57 saves through 495:42 minutes in the goalkeeper position.

The programs will meet on the pitch for the first time in history on Friday.

SENIOR DAY

Prior to Friday's tilt with the Lobos of Sul Ross State University, Dallas will recognize four seniors on the team. This group includes: Alice Bloemer (Sterling, Mass.), Nicolette Perez (San Diego, Calif.), Fairbanks, and Weisbrod. The quartet have participated with the women's soccer program at UD all four years.


UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Dallas will play one final conference match on Sunday, November 1, at Austin College. This is to make up the rained out contest this past weekend. Following that, the Lady Crusaders prepare to host the SCAC Tournament Nov. 6-8.
