Former UD Women's Soccer Player, Deitschel, Continues her FCA Impact

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Samantha (Sam) Deitschel was a member of the University of Dallas women’s soccer team from 2015-2018, playing two seasons and serving as a student assistant the last two. While at UD, Deitschel received a suggestion of starting Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). It was her junior year where Deitschel took action with other leaders on campus to launch a successful FCA huddle at Dallas.

39 UD Fall Student-Athletes Named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2019 fall term. The conference named 458 student-athletes among 10 affiliated institutions. The University of Dallas placed 39 student-athletes across five fall sponsored sports including: men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and volleyball.

Five Named to SCAC 2019 Fall All-Sportsmanship Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its 12th annual fall All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 47 student-athletes were selected to the 2019 squad in the sports of men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball.
Mencacci (2nd Team); Lien Le (3rd Team) Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region

IRVING, Texas – A pair of University of Dallas women’s soccer players, Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) and May Lien Le (Katy, Texas), were named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-West Region Teams. Mencacci was named All-West Region Second Team, while Lien Le got tabbed All-West Region Third Team. This was the first time the duo received All-Region accolades and first for the UD Women’s Soccer Program.
Duran Named to the 2019 SCAC All-Tournament Team

GEORGETOWN, Texas – On Wednesday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women’s Soccer All-Tournament Team was released as part of the weekly conference release. The University of Dallas placed Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) on the team.
Crusaders Fall to No. 1 Seed Trinity University in SCAC Semifinal Match

GEORGETOWN, Texas – 4th-seeded University of Dallas women’s soccer team concluded its 2019 season with a 2-0 setback to top-seeded Trinity University on Saturday. Dallas (10-7-2) withstood the first 18 shots the Tigers (15-3-0), which included 13 in the first half. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) made eight saves and the team had a stop of its own before the first Trinity goal was made at the 55:55-minute mark by Molly Sheridan.
USCAA National All-Academic Team Released; 12 Crusaders Placed on the List

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Dallas placed 12 people on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National All-Academic Team. To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 Cumulative GPA and be a sophomore or higher in eligibility status. Dallas had members listed from its cross country (nine from women and men) and soccer (three combined) programs.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the 2019 Women’s Soccer All-Americans on Friday night. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) headlined a quartet of players from the University of Dallas women’s soccer team with a First Team selection. Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) and May Lien Le (Katy, Texas) qualified for the Second Team All-Americans list. Gigi Garcia Orozco (San Antonio, Texas) was tabbed with an Honorable Mention All-American.
