BACK ON THE PITCH

The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team begins the 2015 campaign at Hendrix College. First faceoff of the game is slated for 2 p.m.

UD hopes to build off a 5-9 record in the previous season, with a .500 effort resulting on the road in a 3-3 display. This is the second-straight season the Navy and White have opened with Hendix College.

LOOK AT THE ROSTER

It is a balanced group of members on the current roster for third-year Head Coach Melissa Grant, who bolsters one with seven new players and 10 returners.

Among those that suited up for the Lady Crusaders last season, senior Mary Hilker (Haslett, Mich.) and junior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas), come back after finishing within the top pair of spots on offensive numbers.

The duo tandem combined for 59 goals, with Rodgers one away from tying a team-high 30 with Hilker. Each player did garner 31 points with Rodgers holding the most shots on the team with 67. Hilker added 56.

Senior Christine Jablonsky (Colorado Springs, Colo.) expects to be a staple for the Navy and White's goalkeeping unit. Last year's IWLCA West All-Region Second Team winner compiled 165 saves with 186 goals (13.29 goals allowed averaged) in 840 minutes of action. She faced 140 shots and did make 14 starts.

SCOUTING HENDRIX

The Warriors dropped an 18-7 game on Friday night to Southwestern University to begin the campaign. HC's meeting with the Lady Crusaders will mark two home contests in three days.

Bridget Umble was an offensive force for the Black and Orange with a team-high three goals matching her total shot attempts for a perfect percentage. Shelby Hill added five shots and a pair of goals. Completing the scoring for the Warriors were Raychl Reger and Kaithlyn Smith.

Rebecca Alexander picked up seven saves while allowing all Southwestern University's goals in 60 minutes.

In the previous year, the two programs met at Irving, Texas, with Dallas prevailing 12-9. Among those returning to the current squad, Hilker marked two goals with seven groundballs to rank second on the team that affair. Meghan Falconer and Rodgers chipped in a single score for the Navy and White, too.

Jablonsky was tabbed with the win in the net, as she nabbed nine saves to match the amount of goals allowed in a complete contest.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Dallas hosts its home-opener on Feb. 22 versus Southwestern University. The contest is slated to start at 1 p.m. It also marks a stretch of five games in a row at home for the women's lacrosse team; which will be the only times UD is on Crusader Field this campaign.
