Head Coach Matthew Barber is in his third year at the helm for track and field. The UD Alumni is looking forward to his group finishing the year out on a positive note. In 2016, the men's side achieved a couple feats. Headlining the top moments was Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) winning gold in an SCAC Championship for the first time ever in program history. The freshman ran a 10.87 second time in the 100 Meter Dash.

Giadolor also shattered a school record in the 200m two days in a row with a 22.16 in the preliminaries and 21.87 in the finals for second. Dallas also got all-conference third team in the 4x100m Relay. Dominic Del Curto (Oakdale, Calif.), Thomas Pierick (Des Moins, Iowa), and Giadolor ran in that relay and are back again this spring.

This season on the SCAC Outdoor Performance List provided on Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS), Giadolor is listed in the top 10 on the 100m with an 11.06 second time at the McMurry Open. That time is 6th in the rankings and from the team's most recent race. Giadolor also posted a 22.76 mark in the 200m at that same competition to check in 9th coming into the final race.

John James (Metairie, La.) and Jack Grubner (Needham, Mass.) are two runners that sit back-to-back just outside the top 20 in the 1500m. The duo both posted these marks at the Marc Randle Classic with James clocking a 4:28.76 and Grubner a 4:29.09. James earned on SCAC Cross Country Conference of the Week in his rookie debut. He was also one of the top-two long distance runners in every meet this fall. Grubner is a four-year letter winner from cross country and three-year letter winner from track and field. The graduate student is in his final year of eligibility.

Pierick is another senior on the team that was mentioned above having earned a spot on an all-conference team in the 4x100m Relay. Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) rounds out a trio of seniors on the Crusaders. He will be someone to watch in the field events, as he is top ten in the Shot Put (11.87m – 6th) and Discus (35.69m – 8th).

Marcos Carmona (San Antonio, Texas) is ninth in the Hammer Throw (29.60m or 97' 5") and does own the longest distance in the event from last season (102' 6").

Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) has been one of the team's most impactful newcomers by demonstrating flexibility. McGuirk has competed at some point this season in 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, the 4x400m Relays, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and 200m. McGuirk landed a Personal Record (PR) in the Triple Jump (11.14m) at the McMurry Open for 7th in TFFRs.His 1:01.62 PR in the 400m Hurdles is ninth also from the team's latest outing two weeks ago. He is eighth in the 110m Hurdles (17.88m) from the Hardin-Simmons Invitational.
