Dallas is 2-4-1 in true matches, but 2-1 at neutral sites. In the lone contest in Sherman, Texas, this year, Dallas played to a 0-0 tie in 110 minutes.

UD SEASON STATS

PREVIEW OF SCAC QUARTERFINAL

Dallas has been paired up with Texas Lutheran University (7-11, 7-7 SCAC) in the second quarterfinal match. This will be the third meeting this season between the programs, and the teams split during the fall with the winner coming at the home venue.

RECAP (9/25)

RECAP (10/16)

The Bulldogs surged the final four games of the campaign, winning all of them including a big upset over No.1 (at the time) Trinity University in Seguin, Texas. TLU followed that critical win with a 2-1 decision over Southwestern to cap a 4-1 home stand and forced a tie in third place in the conference standings with its most recent opponent.

Due to the teams splitting a 1-1 result head-to-head, the victory over Trinity proved to break the tie. The Bulldogs had been in sixth and one point behind Dallas prior to prevailing that Sunday and climbed three spots by winning out. However, TLU is 1-8 in road matches this season and has yet to play on a neutral site in 2016.

Two players that have led the offense with four goals apiece are Cameron Townes and Guillermo Guerra. Townes holds the edge in points with 10 by having two assists. Miguel Candelario and David Ching match each other with a goal and team-high three assists to help create a trio of players with five points. Victor Manzaba is the other player in that group. Victor Rodriguez has been the team's primary goalkeeper with 51 saves in 972:51 minutes. He has a 76.1 save percentage and faced 152 shots. Brendan Soto has been attributed 681:10 minutes and posted two shutouts in eight starts. He has 34 saves.

Texas Lutheran Season Stats

In the victory at Irving, Jake Schnell (Austin, Texas) posted both his goals while Holdridge and Schwarz also scored – Schwarz on a PK. TLU had goals from Ching and Patrick Duffy. Rodriguez made five saves in 45 minutes. The latest match between these programs resulted in a UD own goal deciding the match.

CRUSADER TOURNAMENT HISTORY

Dallas is 0-3 in SCAC Tournament contests since joining the league in 2012. The most recent match was a 1-0 double overtime setback to Schreiner University in Colorado Springs. Two years ago, these teams on Friday met in the quarterfinals with the Bulldogs winning 2-0. That tournament was hosted at the friendly confines for TLU.

The Crusaders have seen success in conference tournaments in the past. The most recent was in 2008, when UD claimed banner years in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and NCAA.

UP NEXT
