Upgrades Completed for Baseball Cages

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team received remodeling to the batting cages located beyond the right field wall this summer. It was a project made possible by donations and support of the program's booster club.

The newly done cages have an entire new structure created with a roof to cover in poor weather situations. Additionally, the cage comes with lights to allow players to practice on hitting at anytime during the day.

The Parents' Booster Club deserves a huge thank you for all the work put into during the 2016 season. Concessions were provided at most of the home contests. Perhaps the largest event of the campaign was a pre-game ceremony that honored the baseball squads from the American Southwest Conference (ASC) East Division Championships in 1999-01. A variety of members of the three teams were present and took the field . UD's President, Thomas W. Keefe, and Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services, John Plotts, were in attendance and met these alumni on the diamond. Also at this event, the UD booster club announced the batting cages endeavor. Jim McCoy and other members of the booster club deserve a special thanks for helping coordinate that afternoon.  See that Full Story.
