Crusaders Compete at DBU Invitational
DALLAS, Texas -- The University of Dallas women's cross country team continued their season at DBU on the "Old Glory" invitational course.
In a strong field of athletic scholarship serving squads, 415 athletes and 47 total teams, the largest field in meet history. The Crusaders took 42nd place and topped our conference foe, Concordia University. Dallas finished with a score of 1226 in their 5K race. Notably, 7 out of 8 Crusaders PR'd.
Head coach Nick Schneigert had this to say about today's effort, " We are now entering the 3rd phase of our training cycle. In this cycle, we are focusing on less volume and more anaerobic. Because of this, they all flourished today with lighter legs. Better yet, we had a hot week this week and I think the training in the heat helped out today as their body acclimated in the heat. 4 of the 8 girls never did XC before so to see them do what they did today proves the resiliency and hard work they put in, having two-a-days especially in the heat has proven good results. Almost all are freshmen and we have a great future ahead of us."
Up next, the Crusaders will head to the University of the Ozarks Invitational (Clarksville, Ar.). The meet is set to be held on Saturday, Oct. 12.
