Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Nicole Leman Invitational

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The University of Dallas women's cross country team opened their season with a balanced performance at the Nicole Leman Invite, hosted by LeTourneau University.

In a stout field of NCAA Division III, NCAA Division II, NAIA and NJCAA programs, the Crusaders took fourth place in a field of five teams, yet only four met the team requirement in order to compete, Dallas finished with a score of 88.

Allison Leonesio led the charge for Dallas, finishing in 11th place with a time of 22:30.7 on the day. Teresa Cashen, Abigail Piotrowski finished with times under 25:00:0, Cashen came in at 24:00.1 and Piotrowski a time of 24:23.8. 

Maya Prochnow, Heidi Burke, Rebecca Dalsass and Mailelani Lessenberry finished strong for the Crusaders. Prochnow had a time of 25:10.9, Burke had a time of 25:59.8 , Dalsass managed a time of 29:31.9 and Lessenberry finished with a time of 34:45.9. Madelyn Zadnik and Alyssa Harris did not score.

Up next, the Crusaders will host their home meet, the University of Dallas Cross Country Invitational.  The meet is set to be held on Saturday, Sept. 14.
