PR's Abound for Crusaders at Old Glory Gallop

DALLAS, Texas - The University of Dallas women's cross country team competed in the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop on Saturday.  The Crusaders finished in 15th place in the large field of 16 schools, many of which were NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA Division I teams.  They finished with 514 points, 34 points ahead of North American, and 112 points behind 14th place Southwestern Assemblies of God.  Dallas Baptist took the overall title with 30 points.

It was an excellent showing from the Crusaders, who look to be peaking right at the end of the regular season.  Three Crusaders set PR's today: Ella Davis (23:10.4), Miranda Roach (25:30.7), and Melissa Gabino (26:08.8).

Madeline Hilker made her debut for the Crusaders today and took the number two spot for the team, finishing in 141st with a time of 25:04.2.

"It was a great race today.  Our athletes really showed how much they are developing in training with PR's all over the place and a great debut performance from Madeline Hilker," said head coach Nick Schneigert.  "We lost a lot of points without our captain, Maria Pecha, but everyone still competed.  Now we head off to our conference meet where we will continue to build experience and talent.  The whole team has been positive and they are all having fun.

The Conference Championship is set to take place in two weeks time.  Southwestern will be the hosts this year, with the race scheduled for Saturday, October 29.
