Crusaders Compete at UD Invitational

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's cross country team competed in their home meet, the University of Dallas Cross Country Invitational, on Saturday.

While the men had the benefit of running in the cool morning dew, the quickly rising temperature reached the high 80's by the time the ladies race began.  Most everyone had a hard time in the unfavorable conditions on the difficult course, but ther Crusaders performed admirably.

Dallas ran the 5k race with just two runners: Maria Pecha and Melissa Gabino.  Pecha placed 16th with a time of 26:55.3, while Gabino placed 20th with a time of 29:47.5  Daisy Otwell of Southwestern Assemblies of God took first with a time of 20:37.8.

The Crusaders have a long break before their next meet.  They will be back in action on Friday, September 23 at the Concordia Classic.
