Women's Cross Country Makes Big Leaps Ahead Of Conference Meet

ABILENE, Texas - The University of Dallas women's cross country team competed in their final regular season meet, the Bill Libby Invitational, this morning.  The Crusaders finished in 4th place out of six competing schools with a total time of 2:16:42 and 108 points.  They finished above conference opponent, Schreiner, who came in fifth with a total time of 2:24:58 and 124 points.

The Crusaders missed out on what would likely have been a higher finish, as Anna Wilgenbusch was rested in prepartation for the Conference Championship.  The rest of her teammates put in their best performance ever, as five out of six racers all set either ran a seasonal best or set a new PR.  Alyssa Harris finished in 16th with a new overall PR of 25:54:7, Grace Ebberwein ran a season best 26:08.6, Agnes Hernandez set a new PR with a time of 27:26.3, Maria Pecha set a new PR of 28:27.1, and Keila Juarez set a new PR of 29:48.9.  Isabella Childs finished in 28:45.5, just one second slower than her time in the 2019 Bill Libby Invitational.

Head coach Nick Schneigert was ecstatic with the team's performance: "I'm very happy with the results we had today, everyone did a phenomenal job.  we had a lot of questions answered, it seems like things are starting to fall into place, and now we're ready for conference."
