Women's Cross Country Take 20th at Chile Pepper Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Dallas women's cross country team competed in Chile Pepper Festival on Friday, one of the most renowned meets in the southern United States.  The Crusaders finished 20th out of 30 teams with a total score of 513 points.  Anna Wilgenbusch ran a season best in the 5k with a final time of 18:50.1, finishing in fifth place among the massive 240+ field of runners.  She was less than a second behind fourth place, Jazmin Chacon of McMurry College taking the fourth spot with a final time of 18:49.5

Alyssa Harris was the next Crusader to finish, coming in with a final time of 21:37.7.  Grace Ebberwein took 136th with a final time of 22:23.

Kenya Bailey of Oklahoma Christian won the meet with a time of 17:55.6, with Johanna Wistokat of Christian Brothers taking second with a time of 18:03.3

The Crusaders have next week off and will be back in action on Oct. 16.  They will compete in the Bill Libby Invitational 6k hosted by McMurry University.
