Women's Cross Country Earns 4th in SCAC Championships

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team finished fourth place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) on Saturday morning. The Crusaders' top five runners accumulated team time of 2:12:07.72. In its third 6K race this month, Dallas tied Texas Lutheran University in points (111), but the Bulldogs would take third on the tiebreaker. Colorado College (18 points) won its third straight conference championship and Trinity University (45) took second.

Individually, Colorado College placed seven runners in the top eight spots, including top two finishers Leah Wessler (21:54.16) and Katie Sandfort (22:34.52). Trinity's Molly McCullough (22:49.40) spoiled the Black and Gold Tigers' bid at sweeping the top 15 points with third

NOTABLE RESULTS

- Angela Moore (Austin, Texas) headlined the Crusaders with 19th place and she scored 16. The top UD runner hit a time of 25:12.01 minutes.

- Bridget Kennedy (San Antonio, Texas) ran a 25:55.72 to place 23rd and scored 19. It was her first 6K to run this campaign.

- Joey Danaher (Boulder, Colo.) rounded out the top three UD runners with a time of 26:05.12 minutes. She placed 25th with a new personal record (PR)

- Emily Cosgray (Simonton, Texas) kept close to the pack to break under the top 30 runners. The junior ran a 26:15.86 result.

Dallas enjoys a weekend break before competing in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championships on November 11. That race is hosted in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
