UofDallas Women's Cross Country Finishes 2nd at Texas Wesleyan Ram Rumble

FORTH WORTH, Texas - An impressive outing by senior Clare Myers (Gross Pointe, Minn.) lifted the University of Dallas women's cross country team to a second place finish last weekend at the Texas Wesleyan Opener.

Entering his first season with Dallas, Head Coach Matthew Barber's squad got off to a solid start, placing three athletes in the top 10.

The navy and white accumulated a team score of 49 and finished ahead of Harden-Simmons University and Clarendon College. Host school, Texas Wesleyan, claimed first with a winning score of 18 on the morning.

Myers paced the Lady Crusaders with a third place finish and a team-best time of 19:37 minutes. Also finishing in the top 10 for were senior Colleen Slattery (Middle Ridge, Wis.) (21:10) and senior Danielle Pajak (Pagosa Springs, Co.) (21:27).

Rounding out the scorers for the women were senior Meghan Falconer (Kohler, Wis.) (22:53) and senior Michelle DeRoche (Lemont, Ill.) (24:58).

Dallas is back on the course next at the UT Arlington Invite on Sept. 13.
