Women's Volleyball Suffers Road Defeat to LeTourneau

October 10, 2023

LONGVIEW, Texas - The University of Dallas volleyball team lost their non-conference match against LeTourneau University 3-1 on Tuesday, falling to 11-11 on the season.

The Crusaders were a bit slow out of the gate, only recording eight kills and losing set one 25-17.  But Dallas came roaring back with a strong second set, notching 16 kills while hitting .310 to win the set 25-20.

UD kept it close for much of set three, but the Yellow Jackets pulled away late in the set to win 25-17 once again.  LeTourneau carried that momentum into set four, quickly jumping out to a four-point lead.  They never let their lead slip, eventually building to their 11-point margin of victory to win the set and the match.

Cassie Dyoub and Isabel McKamey lead the team with 11 kills apiece.  Dyoub also co-lead the team in digs with Devin Henry, the pair tallying 13 each.  Ava Alvarado notched 38 assists, surpassing the 800 mark for her career.
