Crusaders Swept by #2 Trinity

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas women's volleyball team lost their conference matchup with #2 Trinity University 3-0 on Sunday.  They fall to 6-8 on the year and start of the conference campaign 0-3.

The Crusaders were able to hang with Trinity for long stretches of the game, particularly in set one when they were matching the Tigers point for point.  But Trinity showed why they're ranked second in the nation, hitting a 10-2 run to take a 22-14 lead.  They would take the first set 25-15.

Dallas led early at 7-6 in set two, but Trinity snatched the lead soon after and wouldn't let it go for the remainder of the set.  The Crusaders matched them point for point much of the way, but couldn't cut into the deficit, with the Tigers rattling off five straight points at the end to take set two 25-17.

Trinity took a 3-0 lead in set three and never looked back.  Though the Crusaders kept themselves within striking distance for a time, the Tigers piled on the points late in the set to win 25-12 and complete the sweep.
