Dallas Defeated by Schreiner and Colorado

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas women's volleyball team were defeated by Schreiner University and Colorado College in their conference double-header on Saturday.  They are now 6-7 overall on the year and 0-2 to start conference play.

After Schreiner comfortably won sets one and two, Dallas bounced back in set three to make a game of it.  They overcame an early deficit with a 9-2 run to take a 13-10 lead.  They would cling to their narrow advantage for much of the set, only for the Mountaineers to tie it up late at 21-21.

It was anyone's game, but the Crusaders were able to take the set 25-23 to force a fourth set.  Schreiner took a 9-2 lead to start four and never looked back.  Though the Crusaders were able to claw their back to within two points, Schreiner sealed the match with a 7-2 run to win the match 3-1.

The Crusaders showed their grit against Colorado College, a team currently ranked 20th in the nation.  They hung tight it set one, holding a five point lead deep into the set, buit the Tigers went on a 10-3 run to come from behind and win.

Dallas chased for nearly all of set two, but kept themselves within striking distance all the way to the end as Colorado took the set by two points.  It was much of the same in set three, with the Crusaders trailing by just three points deep in the set, but the Tigers had just enough to pull away 25-19 at the end to complete the sweep.
