Crusaders Swept by Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas - The University of Dallas women's volleyball team lost their non-conference matchup with Hardin-Simmons in straight sets on Saturday.  They fall to 5-5 on the year.

The two sides were equal to each other the entire first set, with neither team able to lead by more than three points.  After trading the lead back and forth a handful of times, it was all square at 23-23 before the Cowgirls got the final two points to win set one 25-23.

The Crusaders held a narrow lead in the early stages of set two, 13-10 being their most sizeable lead.  A six point run saw the Cowgirls take a 16-13 lead, but Dallas leveled it right back with three straight points.  Hardin-Simmons took the lead for good with a five point run immediately after, eventually taking the set 25-18.

Dallas once again started the third set strong, jumping out to an early 6-2 lead.  But the Cowgirls kept scoring points in bunches; four points here, three points there, and another three point run saw Hardin-Simmons holding onto a 21-17 lead before another four point run ended the set and the match.

No one cracked double-digit kills for Dallas: Isabel McKamey led the team with seven kills, hitting .111 on the day.  Emma Parsons led the team with 11 assists, and Devin Henry led all players with 16 digs.
