Crusaders Take Down Dallas Christian in Four Sets

DALLAS, Texas - The University of Dallas women's volleyball team won their non-conference matchup with Dallas Christian College 3-1 on Wednesday.  They improve to 5-4 on the year.

The Crusaders jumped out to an early 5-1 lead and led by as many as eight points in the first set.  They maintained a comfrotable five to seven point advantage deep into the set, but DCC made a late push to come within four.  The Crusaders held them off with a 25-19 win to take the first set.

Things were much tighter in the second set.  The early stages were frantic, with UD rattling off six straight points, only for DCC to answer back with a 7-1 run to take a 12-10 lead.  The two sides traded blows and the lead for the remainder of the set, with Dallas Christian narrowly edging out UD with a 25-23 win.

The Crusaders made sure there would be no doubt as to who was in control of this game in the third set.  After trading blows for the first few rallies, UD went on a 14-4 run, then rattled off six straight points for the second time of the night to cruise to a 25-11 win.  A run of nine straight points gave them plenty of confidence in the fourth set, as they went on to see out the 25-18 set win to seal the match.

Abby Medico led all players with a season-high 10 kills and a .529 hitting percentage on the night.  Larissa Ramirez and Emma Parsons notched 14 and 12 assists, respectively, and Emily Revis led the team with nine digs.
