Whyte Named to All-SCAC Volleyball Third Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – On Friday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced the All-Conference Volleyball Team for games played in the 2021 spring season. The University of Dallas had Dayjah Whyte (Round Rock, Texas) named to the Third Team. It is the third time in as many years that the junior has received all-conference laurels.

Coaches voted for 15 places for All-SCAC with 15 points awarded for first-place votes, 14 points for second-place votes, 13 points for third-place votes, etc., down to one point for a 15th-place vote. All players not elected to the First, Second or Third Team, but who received at least one vote, were named Honorable Mention. Coaches could not vote for their own players.

Whyte was the top producer on the Crusaders with 139 kills in 51 sets played (2.73 k/set). She hit .221 and also provided the top blocking with 32 total. This included five solo blocks. Whyte also totaled nine service aces, which was tied for second with two other players and one shy of the team-best.

Whyte checked in seventh in the SCAC for kills-per-set and 32 blocks tied for 14th. In the UD record books, Whyte is third averaging 2.83 kills and 13th all-time in total kills with 838. Her career .262 hitting percentage ranks fifth in the program. Whyte just cracks the top 15 in total blocks with 165.
