MATCH INFORMATION

The University of Dallas volleyball team is home for its only time in October with the second Group Divisional of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) on the 18th and 19th. Five games will be played in two days at the Maher Center with Southwestern University, Schreiner University, No. 6 Colorado College, and Centenary College visiting. The Crusaders will take on Southwestern and Schreiner for scheduled 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. start times on Friday, while battling Colorado College and Centenary at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday.


BLUE CREW TAILGATE

The University of Dallas Blue Crew is hosting a tailgate on Friday from 4-5:30 outside near the soccer pitch. Prior to the event, fans can come support the volleyball match or come after the tailgate and watching some UD Soccer! Click here for more information.


SENIOR NIGHT

Prior to Dallas' match on Saturday versus Centenary, a quartet of seniors will be recognized on the court. This group includes: Kennedy Bradley (Groesbeck, Texas), Stephanie Janysek (Sinton, Texas), Merit Paramo (Wasilla, Alaska), and Krystyn Pua (Escondido, Calif.).

MATCH NOTES

- Dallas (11-14, 4-5 SCAC) has gone 4-4 in its last eight matches over two of the last three weekends. This includes 2-2 each tournament.

- Dayjah Whyte (Round Rock, Texas) was named to the Baden Invitational All-Tournament Team and was United States Collegiate Athletic Conference (USCAA) Player of the Week. Larissa Ramirez (San Antonio, Texas) earned USCAA Setter of the Week.

- Abigail Porras (El Paso, Texas) and Whyte are top hitters with 244 and 237 kills, respectively. Those marks are third and fourth among the SCAC Leaders. Ramirez ranks fourth with 7.31 assists-per-set.

- The Crusaders are 4-2 at home this season and includes a 3-2 victory over Austin College for their only conference match at the friendly confines.

- The Crusaders enter the second half of conference play in seventh place in the standings.


(Opponent Notes)

- Southwestern enters 13-9 on the season and 6-4 in conference play. Sit third in the conference.

- Pirates have dropped last three matches, all in conference play.

- Emma White and Elleanna McGown lead the offensive charge with 207 and 206 kills, respectively. The team has 970 kills to 864 by opponents. Six different players are in double-digits for service aces with a trio of them eclipsing 25.

- Schreiner enters 7-15 and dropped a 3-0 non-conference game on Tuesday at McMurry University.

- The Mountaineers are 2-7 in the conference. This is their second trip to Irving, as they played in a non-conference tournament hosted by Dallas in September where they went 1-2.

- Kayla Lofland and Amanda Coombs are top producers offensively with 247 and 155 kills, respectively. Alexis Coronado and Kamryn Ash have split setter duties with 305 and 288 assists.

- Colorado College enters 21-2 overall and checks in sixth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll.

- The Tigers are unbeaten at 9-0 the first time through league play and are only unbeaten team in conference play.

- The kill differential is 1,105-669. It has been a group effort with seven players with over 100 but the leader being Allie Freeburg with 194. Georgia Mullins leads a strong blocking with 70 total and eight solo blocks. The team has a 130-105 advantage.

- Centenary enters 9-16 overall and 5-5 in the conference standings for a tie of fifth.

- The Ladies dropped their last outing at University of Texas at Dallas but won earlier that Friday against Belhaven University.

- Ami Powers and Lauren Kelley are the top hitters in kills with 219 and 200. Rachel Demerjian continues to be the top setter with 691 assists. Marissa Sandoval has 494 digs and a quartet of players have surpassed 200. Centenary edges opponents 1,848 to 1,766.

ROAD AHEAD

Dallas plays its next five matches at Austin College, as the second SCAC Cross-Divisional will be held on Oct. 26-27 with Texas Lutheran University, Johnson & Wales University-Denver, No. 8 Trinity University, and University of St. Thomas. Dallas then returns on the 29th for a single-match against Austin College to finish up the nine-game stretch of conference games. The Crusaders finish the regular season the next day with nearby Dallas Christian College.
