Hassink tabbed as USCAA Volleyball All-American

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the All-American and End of the Year Award Winners on Thursday evening. Diana Hassink (Tulsa, Okla.) was a recipient from the University of Dallas volleyball team to be named an Honorable Mention All-American.

Hassink stepped up as a libero her senior season and notched career-bests in digs (549) and digs-per-set (5.28). Her digs average ranked in the top five in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and USCAA throughout the fall season. According to the most recent rankings, Hassink is tied 56th in NCAA Division III, tops in the SCAC, and fourth in the USCAA. Hassink is fifth in the USCAA for total digs.

Hassink propelled herself to third in the program for total digs with 1,661 by the end of the campaign. She started the year out in 11th in the rankings, and eventually became the fifth player to eclipse 1,500 career digs this season. Hassink achieved the milestone in one of the few home matches for the Crusaders on October 5th versus Randall University.

Hassink becomes the 13th player in the volleyball program to be named an All-American. The most recent was the previous libero for UD, Jessie Koster. She won the accolade in 2015 and '16.
