Two tabbed on SCAC Volleyball All-Conference 2nd Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – On Monday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) released the postseason awards in exclusive all-conference voting by head coaches of the SCAC. Two players from the University of Dallas would be named to the All-SCAC Second Team: senior Jaime Birzer (Ottawa, Kan.) and junior Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.). Birzer earned the accolade for the second consecutive season, while Koster earned a spot for the first time in her career.

Birzer has produced 180 kills on the season and has averaged 2.61 kills per set this season. On the defensive side, the middle blocker ranks second with 47 total.

Koster has anchored the defense by putting up her best numbers in her career in digs and digs per set. The libero shattered the single season digs record in the latest outing at University of Texas at Tyler; posting 25 to give her 742 overall. She also has 6.62 digs per set, which along with digs, leads the SCAC and are second in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Entering the week, the defending USCAA Player-of-the-Week ranked third in both categories in NCAA Division III.

Dallas hits the court again on Friday, November 6, in the SCAC Tournament at Georgetown, Texas, UD will face Texas Lutheran University at 1 p.m.
