Volleyball defeated 3-2 on Saturday

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - The University of Dallas volleyball team (20-24) fell 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match at Dallas Christian College. The set scores were: 20-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-19, 10-15.

After dropping the opening set, the Lady Crusaders would counter with a close second set to even the count 1-all. The third set would go to the home team in the largest gap in the score of the day. UD did force a fifth set after taking the fourth one, but would come up short in the finale. 

Junior Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) claimed a season-high 39 digs and continues to lead the conference with 6.38 per set. She also added five service aces. 

Junior Mairin Guilfoyle (Roanoke, Va.) and senior Cat Dowgwillo (St. Louis, Mo.) tallied double-digit performances in kills with 15 and 10, respectively. It is the third time this campaign, Guilfoyle has tied a season-high. Freshman Elizabeth Smith (Broken Arrow, Okla.) added 23 assists and a season-high eight kills.

Dallas will play one final conference weekend prior to the tournament in Georgetown, Texas. The Lady Crusaders travel to Colorado College on October 23-24 with four games slated altogether. Dallas will oppose Schreiner University, Southwestern University, Texas Lutheran University, and Trinity University over the two-day span.
