FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The University of Dallas volleyball team (15-8, 4-3 SCAC) won its season-high, fifth match in a row after defeating Dallas Christian in a 3-0 result on Saturday. It's the 11th triumph for the Lady Crusaders in non-conference action, and eighth-straight win outside of league play.

 Dallas claimed consecutive sweeps after playing three contests in five days, and now have posted five 3-0 set decisions on the campaign.

In Saturday's matchup, the Lady Crusaders were almost consistent resolving each game by near identical scores. The opening set was a 25-14 final, followed by a 25-15 margin which would be the nearest final tally count on the day. In the conclusion, the navy and white squad reflected another 15-14 score.

Junior middle blocker Jaime Birzer (Ottawa, Kan.) notched a team-high nine kills, while fellow classmate right side hitter Cat Dowgwillo followed with six put aways. Adding five successful kills apiece were sophomore outside hitter Mairin Guilfoyle (Roanoke, Va.) and freshman outside hitter Mary Scholz (Fallon, Nev.).

Senior setter C.J. Broadbent (Goodyear, Ariz.) contributed 27 assists and sophomore libero Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) picked up 16 digs.  

Next Opponent:

Dallas enjoys a week off until its next match on Oct. 10-11 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic College Divisional No. 3 located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The two-day event will be hosted by Colorado College.

The Lady Crusaders will meet Centenary College of Louisiana first on Friday, Oct. 10 for a 5 p.m. (MDT) start. On Oct. 11, UD will also meet Austin College and Colorado College on the court in a 10:30 a.m. (MDT) and 5 p.m. (MDT), respectively.
