ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's volleyball team (6-5) won versus McMurry University (3-1) on Tuesday night at Kimbrell Arena. It is the squad's third consecutive victory (6-5), tying a season-long, and is the sixth win in the last seven opportunities.

The Lady Crusaders opened the first set with a 5-1 spurt, and didn't allow McMurry to lead until the home squad took a 17-16 edge. The Warhawks increased the advantage to three points, 22-19, before Dallas ended the set on a 6-1 run.

The same score would be the final result in the following set, but McMurry came out ahead to knot the series 1-1.

After falling behind 1-0, the navy and white commanded the court in the third frame, taking a 2-1 lead in the match after its largest set-victory, 25-14. Following that, the Lady Crusaders wrapped up the contest with a 25-19 decision that required another late rally.

In the fourth round, Dallas never led until a service ace from senior C.J. Broadbent (Goodyear, Ariz.) lifted the visitors to a 15-14 total. That occurred during an 8-0 stretch for the navy and white, who secured the set scoring 10 of the final 15 points.

Broadbent continues to rack up assists, coming four shy of a game-high this season with 44.

Sophomore outside hitter Mairin Guilfoyle (Roanoke, Va.) spiked a season-best and game-high 17 kills, pacing a trio of Lady Crusaders on the offense. Joining the second-year starter was junior middle-blocker Jaime Birzer (Ottawa, Kan.) and senior middle-blocker Emily Caples (Walnut Creek, Calif.) with 12 and 11, respectively.

Sophomore libero Jessie Koster (Sherwood, Ore.) led the team 21 digs, while Broadbent contributed a season-high, 19 on her outstanding night.
