Emily Meyers came to Dallas in 2008 from San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Emily attended and played volleyball for J Serra High School, and also played beach volleyball in the deep sand of Southern California. Due to the downturn of the economy Emily returned home for the 2009-10 school year, attending Saddleback College and coaching with T-Street volleyball club. Emily was able to return to UD in 2010 and resume her education and volleyball career. She picked up right where she left off, starting at outside hitter for the Crusaders. This past year Emily switched from OH to Libero, making the transition so smoothly that she earned SCAC conference Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors. Now in her senior year at UD, Emily is an education major who intends to go into teaching and coaching after grad school. She already has a head start on her coaching career, spending her off-seasons coaching with the Texas Image juniors club. | |||||||||||||||
