Amanda Kitten sets Dallas Volleyball 'Career Assists Record'

IRVING, Texas - University of Dallas Volleyball 5-foot-8 junior setter Amanda Kitten (Slaton, Texas/Lubbock-Cooper H.S.) has set a new all-time career assists record for the Lady Crusaders, surpassing Scarlet Walls' (2005-08) previous mark of 2,705 career assists.

The record fell in Dallas' match with Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) on Friday, Sept. 9, at the Austin College Tournament held in Sherman, Texas. Heading into the HSU match, Kitten needed just one assist to best Walls for sole posession of the record. She ended the match with 30 assists.

Of note, Kitten tied Walls in Dallas' first match of Sept. 9 against the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor with a 24 assist effort.

Entering the 2011 season, Kitten had totaled 2,523 assists, 182 shy of matching Walls. Now, eleven matches into her junior campaign, she boasts 2,881 career assists.

Kitten continues to rewrite the Dallas Volleyball record books. She set a new single-season assists record in 2010 with 1,396 assists, eclipsing her previous record of 1,127 assists tallied a year prior.
