Volleyball defeats Texas College

The University of Dallas volleyball team (21-9) added another 'W' to their record, Saturday, defeating Texas College in three sets: 25-17, 25-16, and 25-15. This makes their third in a row win of 3-0.  

UD was led offensively by sophomore outside hitter Theresa Wohldmann (Florissant, Mo./Nerinx Hall H.S.), who had 14 kills and two blocks. Junior rightside hitter Danielle Fuchs (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne H.S.) added ten kills and three blocks, while junior middle blocker Liz Baska (Tonganoxie, Kan./Tonganoxie H.S.) had eight kills and three blocks. 

Sophomore outside hitter Emily Meyers (San Jaun Capistrano, Cali./JSerra H.S.) had six kills, while junior Rachel MacGillivray (Phoenix, Ariz./Veritas Prep) added two kills and two blocks. Freshman middle blocker Laura Yokell (Fort Worth, Texas/Home School) recorded two kills and five aces, while sophomore defensive specialist Emily Glick (Dallas, Texas/North Hills Prep) had one kill and a block. 

Sophomore setter Amanda Kitten (Slaton, Texas/Lubbock-Cooper) contributed 34 assists, one ace, and one block. Senior libero Kelli Fuentes (Rowlett, Texas/Rowlett H.S.) added three aces. 

Glick and Fuchs led the team and tied for 11 digs, followed by Fuentes with nine, and Kitten with eight. 

On Oct. 4, the Crusaders will be on the campus of Spalding University in Louisville, Ky., for the USCAA Tournament, where they will first face Florida College at 1:00 p.m.
