Women's Volleyball Bounced Around By Kangaroos
On Friday evening, the University of Dallas women's volleyball team was defeated in three sets by the Austin College Kangaroos. The sets were as follows: 20-25, 18-25 and 10-25.
UD sophomore outside hitter Theresa Wohldmann (Florissant, MO/Nerinx Hall H.S.) led the Crusaders with eight kills and 37 total attempts. Junior Crusader Danielle Fuchs (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne H.S.) had a similar stat-line to Wohldmann's, as the rightside hitter recorded eight kills in addition to 32 total attempts. Meanwhile, sophomore setter Amanda Kitten (Slaton, TX/Lubbock-Cooper) led the team with 24 assists, while senior libero Kelli Fuentes (Rowlett, TX/Rowlett H.S.) did the same with 21 digs. Also noteworthy, is the fact Laura Yokell (Fort Worth, TX/Home School) and Elizabeth Baska (Tonganoxie, KS/Tonganoxie H.S.) each had a team-high four blocking assists.
Next on the slate for UD will be a three team tournament at Maher Arena on Saturday, October 2. Both of UD's matches will be streamed on CTVT, which can be accessed by signing up at http://www.collegetvticket.com/. A portion of the proceeds will benefit UD Athletics.
