UD Volleyball Breaks Record, Lose to 18th Ranked UT-Dallas

The University of Dallas volleyball team played two games on Saturday, one versus the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and the other against UT-Dallas in Richardson, TX. UD defeated UMHB in the tri-match opener in five sets: 25-20, 21-25, 27-25, 16-25, and 15-7 in their second meeting this season. The women then followed up their twelfth consecutive win of the year, a new school record, with a loss to the number 18 ranked team in NCAA Division III, UT-Dallas 15-25, 10-25, and 20-25. This put the team at 12-1 for the season, the best of any women's volleyball team at UD.

In their win against UMHB, sophomore outside hitter Theresa Wohldmann (Florissant, MO/Nerinx Hall H.S.) led the team with 20 kills and 4 aces. Defensively, Wohldmann also tied for the lead in digs with senior libero Kelli Fuentes (Rowlett, TX/Rowlett H.S). Also, sophomore setter Amanda Kitten (Slaton, TX/Lubbock-Cooper) provided 53 assists in the women's five set victory.

The women look to rest and refresh before their match against Howard Payne University on the road on September 25 in Brownwood, TX.
