Four Volleyball Players Named NEAC All-Conference, Three on First Team

Fresh off an appearance in the NCAA tournament, four UD volleyball athletes were placed on the North Eastern Athletic Conference's All-Conference Teams as the Crusaders wrapped up their successful 19-20 season. Junior libero Kelli Fuentes (Rowlett, TX/Rowlett H.S.), sophomore middle blocker Liz Baska (Tonganoxie, KS), and sophomore rightside Danielle Fuchs (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne H.S.) were all named First Team All-Conference, while freshman setter Amanda Kitten (Slaton, TX/Lubbock-Cooper) was chosen as a Second Team member. The quartet was instrumental in much of the team's success as they rolled through the NEAC Conference Tournament and ultimately advance to the NCAA Tournament.

In 37 matches (126 games), Fuentes finished as the team leader with 550 digs for 4.37 per game, and added 28 service aces. During the year she became the UD career leader in digs and was named the NEAC Tournament MVP. In 39 matches (134 games), Baska compiled 288 kills in 667 attempts to finish with a team high .267 attack percentage. She averaged 2.15 kills per game, and chipped in 34 service aces, 87 digs, 6 solo blocks, and 87 block assists. In 39 matches (134 games), Fuchs finished with 341 kills, .203 attack percentage, and 2.54 kills per game. Displaying her all around abilities, she added 40 service aces, 291 digs, 43 assists, 2 solo blocks, and 69 block assists. In 39 matches (126 games) Kitten finished as the undisputed team leader in assists with 1128 to finish as the UD single season record holder in that category. She also recorded 53 kills, 31 service aces, 235 digs, 7 solo blocks, and 42 block assists.
