UD Women's Track & Field Releases 2020 Schedule

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's and women's track and field teams have released their 2020 schedule. First year head coach Nick Schneigert will begin his track tenure at UD when the teams travel to Lubbock, Texas to partake in the Texas Tech Shootout on February 14th and 15th. To finish up the first month of the season, the Crusaders will then turn its attention to the Leap Day Relays in Jackson, Mississippi in a meet hosted by Millsaps College on February 29th.

March 7th will feature a one day meet at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational in Abilene, Texas. A week later, UD will travel to Rhodes College to compete in the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee Match 13th and 14th. To end the month the two squads will participate at the Dan Veach Invitational for a two day meet on the 27th and 28th.

April 4th will be the next meet the two teams will compete at the War Hawk Classic hosted by McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. The men's and women's team will then compete at the East Texas Invite in Commerce, Texas in a meet hosted by Texas A&M Commerce on Friday, April 10th. The track teams will have one last tune up before the conference championships as they will compete at the Eagle Communications Invitational in Hillsboro, Kansas on April 18th in a meet hosted by Tabor College. Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th will be the dates for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships. This year's conference championships will be hosted once again by Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

The men's and women's teams both finished 5th at last year's SCAC Championships on the campus of Trinity University. McGuirk paced the men's team last season setting a school record in five-straight meets in the 400-meter hurdles and gathered the first gold medal for the men's team in three years after he grabbed first place in the 400-hurldles at the conference championships. McGuirk also secured a bronze finish in the javelin throw in San Antonio.

On the women's side Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) led the women's squad with a silver medal in her first ever run in the 10,000 meter race at the SCAC Championship. Wilgenbusch will be taking this semester off as she will be studying on the Rome campus this spring. Hannah Green (Mission Viejo, Calif.) also medaled in the women's pole vault competition with a third-place finish a season ago. UD will be competing in its first indoor meet since the Texas Tech Indoor Invite in 2014. Dallas is looking to add an indoor season to its schedule in future years. 

Both teams will look to better its all-around finishes at this year's SCAC Championships with Coach Schneigert leading the way in his first season. Schneigert arrived at Dallas in September and helped lead Wilgenbusch to an All-American
