Wilgenbusch Captures Silver Medal in Women's 10,000 Meter Race on Day One of SCAC Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's track and field team completed Day One of the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Track and Field Championships. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) secured a second-place finish in her first ever run in the 10,000 meter race. Wilgenbusch finished with a mark of 41:34.27 and secured eight points for the team along with an All-Conference award. Hannah Green (Mission Viejo, Calif.) also notched an All-Conference award with a bronze finish (6 points) in pole vault with a jump of 3.02 meters. All-Conference awards are awarded to the top-three finishers in each competition.

- Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) finished in fifth place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:56.57. Hernandez was awarded two points with that effort.

- Green tied with four other athletes with her 3.02 mark, but secured third place after she had the second-fewest misses below the scored mark.

- Anna Brunk (Lemont, Ill.) also competed in pole vault with a jump of 2.73 meters for eighth place.

- Athena Garnica (Phoenix, Ariz.) threw a personal-best 25.61 meters in women's javelin on the day for 10th place.

Dallas sits in fourth place with 16 points after Day One.
