Wilgenbusch Places Third in 1500-Meter to lead Crusaders in Marc Randle Classic

BULLARD, Texas - The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed at the Marc Randle Classic hosted by UT-Tyler on Friday. Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas), Brenda Mendoza (Dumas, Texas), and Katie Dieteman (Erie, Pa.) all posted Personal Records (PRs) in their respective races on the day. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) placed a top-3 finish in the 1500 meter race.


OTHER NOTABLES

- Korth ran the 1500-meter race with a 5:43.53 mark for 13th place.

- Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) posted a season-best 5:35.75 time in the 1500 race as she finished in 10th.

- Dieteman made her season-debut in the 800 meters race and also recorded a PR in the 1500m race with a 6:06.82 time for 18th place.

- Catherine Thelen (Raleigh N.C.) made her track debut in the 1500 meter with 6:06.82 time for 17th place.

- Thelen also competed in the 800m with a 3:06.18 time.

-  Mendoza made her debut in the 800m and set a PR in the 1500 race on the day with a 5:52.41.

- Wilgenbusch finished in third place with a 5:11.85 time in the 1500 race.

- Zammit, Green, and Zurita all ran in the 100-meter race.

- Andrea Soto (Fort Worth, Texas) made her season debut on the day running in the 200 meters and the 4x4 races.

- Lauren Zammit (Kingswood, Texas) competed in the 200m race (30.54).

- Athena Garnica (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Jules Oliveti (Southlake, Texas) threw shotput for Dallas.

- Oliveti also posted a 31.34-meter throw in discus for seventh place.

- Garnica had a 28.06-meter throw in her discus throw.

Dallas enjoys a couple weeks off until it will compete next at the TLU Division III Invitational in Seguin on Saturday, March 23rd.
