Women's Track and Field Results at Hardin-Simmons Saturday
ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's track and field team competed in the Hardin-Simmons University Invitational on Saturday. Dallas claimed fifth place out of 10 squads as several individuals notched solid times.
Highlighting the results with a pair of second place finishes was junior Ruth Fritz on the 1500 and 3000 Meter races. Fritz secured a personal record 5:14.77 mark in the 1500, and then followed with an 11:58.15 score in the 3000 Meters heat.
Joining the sophomore with a top five finish in the 3000M event was freshman Angela Moore (Austin, Texas) in fourth. The rookie posted a career-high ranking after totaling a 12:05.66 minute run.
Sophomore Lizzie Depew (Grove City, Pa.) clinched two 4th place times on the 100 Meter Hurdles and 400 Meter Hurdles with a 17.19 and 1:13.65, respectively.
Seniors Colleen Slattery (Middle Ridge, Wis.) and Danielle Pajak (Pagosa Springs, Colo.) earned third and fourth on the 800 Meters, with times of 2:30.51 and 2.36.62. Slattery's score ranks sixth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).
Slattery added to her top 10 collection on the 400 Meters with a 1:05.78 minute score. Both of the senior's times were season-highs.
Taking seventh on the same event was sophomore Katie McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.) with a 1:03.47, as her teammate listed above rounded things up in 10th.
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Dallas turns its attention to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship in San Antonio, Texas, on Apr. 24-25.
