SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team lost their conference opener against Trinity University 2-0 on Friday, falling to 2-7-1 on the year.
The Tigers were the more threatening side from the first whistle, but UD's defense did well to fight to a stalemate in the first half. Trinity outshot the Crusaders 9-1 in the first half, but struggled to fins the target, only calling Ella Charles into action twice.
Trinity continued to enjoy the lion's share of possession and attacking chances and finally had their reward, with Michaela Bosco opening the scoring in the 53rd minute. Erin Heath doubled their lead with her first goal of the season in the 74th minute, and that would be all that was needed from Trinity to win the match.
The Crusaders are back in action on Sunday, as they will face Schreiner University. The match is scheduled for a 12:00 pm kick-off from Kerrville, Texas.
