IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team opened their season at home against cross-town rivals, the University of Texas-Dallas, falling 4-0 to the Comets.

The first half kicked off with both teams vying for control, but it was the University of Texas-Dallas that struck first. Kate Crowe found the back of the net in the sixth minute, setting the tone early for the Comets.  They doubled their lead shortly after when Sydney Geter scored in the 17th minute, extending their lead to 2-0.

UTD made it 3-0 at the stroke of half time on an unassisted goal by Jenna Wilkinson. The Crusaders tested the keeper twice in the first half, but had no reward for their efforts as they battled UTD's back line.

The Crusaders tightened up the defense in the second half, but Sierra Foster added another goal in the 60th minute, securing a 4-0 lead for her team.  UD was able to keep a clean sheet for the remaining 30 minutes of the game, but couldn't chip away at the deficit as the Comets secured the win.
