Bulldogs Pull Away Late to Defeat Crusaders

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team lost their conference match with Texas Lutheran 3-1 on Friday.  They fall to 4-9-2 on the year and 3-6-2 in conference play.

The first half was largely uneventful, as both defenses stood firm and unyielding.  The first half ended with nary a peep from either offense, the Bulldogs recording just one shot on target and the Crusaders failing to record one.  It was certainly a step in the right direction for Dallas, who were trailing 2-0 at the half in their previous meeting with the Bulldogs back in September.

Though TLU opened the scoring in the 64th minute, Dallas were still very much in the game.  It didn't take them long to equalize, thanks to a stellar, long-range effort my Izzy Barajas in the 75th minute.

Despite the strong response from the team, Dallas quickly found themselves trailing again as the Bulldogs took the lead in the 77th minute.  The Crusaders came right back down from the kick-off and carved out a chance to level the match, but Claire Reed's shot from outside the box was saved.  It would be the last shot on goal for the Crusaders, as TLU put the nail in the coffin with goal number three in the 87th minute.
