Tight Match with Schreiner Ends in a Stalemate

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team played Schreiner University to a 0-0 draw in their conference match-up on Friday.  They are now 3-4-2 on the year and 2-1-2 in conference play.

Neither offense will be particularly happy with their performance today, but both sides will be quite happy with how they defended.  In a contest that was bitterly fought from start to finish, there was rarely any product at the end of it with clear cut chances at a premium.  The Mountaineers had the only shot in the entire first half, and it hardly troubled Briana Salinas in goal as she snagged an easy save.

The story was much the same in the second half.  Schreiner had the lion's share of chances, though many were half chances at best as the UD back line was nigh impenetrable.  though the Crusaders enjoyed possession in some dangerous areas, especially off the counterattack with their wingers tearing up the sidelines, they couldn't carve anything out in the final third as the match ended scoreless.
